Frequently Asked Questions

Please email us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Breathe, Move, Heal is the foundation of everything I teach at Life Balance. It's a simple, practical approach to supporting your nervous system and emotional well-being through small, intentional moments woven into everyday life.

Rather than adding more to your already full schedule, Breathe, Move, Heal helps you pause, reconnect, and respond with greater calm, clarity, and resilience.

Breathe
Your breath is one of the quickest ways to communicate safety to your nervous system. Simple breathing techniques can help reduce stress, improve focus, calm big emotions, and bring you back to the present moment.

Move
Gentle movement helps release built-up tension, increase body awareness, and reconnect you with yourself. Movement doesn't have to be complicated—even small stretches, mindful movements, or changing your posture can support nervous system regulation.

Heal
Healing isn't about being perfect or never feeling stressed. It's about creating small, consistent moments that help you build resilience, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and ease.

Whether you're joining a live class, participating in coaching, working with me in therapy, or using one of my on-demand resources, you'll learn practical Breathe, Move, Heal skills you can use in just a few minutes each day.

My hope is that these practices become more than something you do—they become a way of caring for yourself that supports your body, mind, relationships, and overall well-being for years to come.

Your nervous system influences nearly every part of your daily life—how you handle stress, respond to challenges, connect with others, focus, sleep, parent, work, and care for yourself.

Somatic (body-based) practices help you work with your nervous system rather than against it. Through simple, practical skills like breathing, gentle movement, mindfulness, and body awareness, you can help your body shift from stress and overwhelm toward greater calm, balance, and resilience.

Over time, many people experience:

  • Reduced stress, tension, and feelings of overwhelm
  • Greater emotional regulation and the ability to respond rather than react
  • Increased resilience during life's challenges and transitions
  • Improved focus, clarity, and presence
  • Better sleep and overall well-being
  • Stronger relationships through greater patience, connection, and communication
  • Increased self-awareness, confidence, and self-compassion
  • A deeper sense of calm, safety, and trust in themselves

These skills can be especially supportive for people experiencing stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, parenting challenges, or simply the demands of everyday life.

At Life Balance, my Breathe, Move, Heal approach focuses on teaching practical skills you can use in just a few minutes each day. Whether through my free Reset + Restore Starter Kit, live weekly classes, on-demand courses, family resources, group programs, or individual sessions, you'll learn simple practices that fit into real life—not another overwhelming item on your to-do list.

This work isn't about being perfect or eliminating stress altogether.

It's about giving your nervous system the support it needs so you can feel more calm, connected, resilient, and present—in your body, your relationships, and your everyday life.

Whether you're looking for individual support, a group experience, or practical skills you can use on your own, my Breathe, Move, Heal approach is designed to help you build greater calm, resilience, and well-being through simple, body-based practices.

Many people come to me because they're experiencing:

  • Stress, overwhelm, or burnout
  • Anxiety, worry, or feeling constantly "on"
  • Difficulty managing emotions or navigating life's challenges
  • Depression or low energy
  • Trauma, PTSD, or the lasting effects of difficult experiences
  • ADHD, sensory sensitivity, or nervous system dysregulation
  • Physical tension or stress-related discomfort
  • Parenting and family challenges
  • Relationship or communication difficulties
  • Major life transitions, grief, or life changes
  • Difficulty slowing down, resting, or finding balance
  • A desire to feel more connected to themselves, their relationships, and their purpose

Together, we focus on building practical skills that support your nervous system through breathing, movement, mindfulness, body awareness, and other evidence-informed somatic practices. Rather than simply talking about stress, you'll learn accessible tools you can use in everyday moments to help your body and mind move toward greater regulation and resilience.

Support is always personalized to your goals and comfort level. Depending on what you're looking for, you may benefit from a private 1:1 session, live weekly classes, a self-paced course, a group program, or one of my family resources. My goal is to help you find an approach that fits your life and gives you practical skills you can continue using long after our time together.

While these practices can be highly supportive for many emotional and physical challenges, they are not a substitute for medical care or emergency mental health treatment. If you have questions about which service is the best fit for your needs, I'd be happy to connect with you.

All of my work is rooted in my Breathe, Move, Heal approach and focuses on practical, body-based skills that support nervous system regulation, emotional well-being, and resilience. The difference lies in the type of support you're receiving.

Therapy (Wisconsin residents):
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I provide psychotherapy to clients located in Wisconsin. Therapy is clinical mental health treatment and may include assessment, diagnosis (when appropriate), treatment planning, and documentation.

Coaching (Available Everywhere):
Coaching sessions focus on learning practical nervous system regulation skills through breathing, gentle movement, mindfulness, body awareness, and other somatic practices. Coaching is educational, experiential, and goal-oriented, helping you build everyday skills for managing stress, increasing resilience, and creating lasting habits. Coaching is not psychotherapy or a substitute for mental health treatment.

Courses, Memberships, Groups, and Workshops:
My online programs, live weekly classes, family resources, and workplace trainings are also educational and skill-building. They are designed to help you confidently use simple Breathe, Move, Heal practices in your daily life.

Many people use these offerings as a standalone resource for stress management and personal growth, while others participate alongside therapy or medical care as part of their overall wellness journey.

If you're unsure which option is the best fit for your goals, I'd be happy to help you find the approach that's right for you.

No experience is necessary! :) My Breathe, Move, Heal approach is designed for real people living real lives. You don't need any previous experience with yoga, meditation, breathwork, or somatic practices to benefit.

Everything I teach is beginner-friendly, trauma-informed, and adaptable to meet you where you are.

Whether you're recovering from an injury, living with chronic pain, managing a health condition, pregnant or postpartum, or simply prefer a gentler approach, you're encouraged to participate in a way that feels safe and supportive for your body.

Many practices can be done:

  • Seated in a chair
  • Standing
  • On a yoga mat or the floor (if comfortable)
  • With very gentle or minimal movement

Listening to your body is always more important than following along exactly. You're welcome to modify, pause, rest, or skip any practice at any time.

If you have a medical condition, injury, or specific health concerns, please consult your healthcare provider before beginning any new movement or wellness program. My offerings are designed to complement—not replace—appropriate medical or mental health care.

The goal isn't to perform the practices perfectly. It's to discover simple, practical Breathe, Move, Heal skills that support your nervous system in a way that works for you.

One of the best parts of Breathe, Move, Heal is that you don't need any special experience or equipment. These practices are designed to fit into real life and meet you exactly where you are.

Whether you're joining a private session, live class, coaching program, or enjoying an on-demand practice, here's all you'll need:

  • A quiet, comfortable space where you can focus for a few minutes
  • Comfortable clothing that allows you to move with ease
  • A chair, yoga mat, or simply a place to sit or stand comfortably
  • A reliable internet connection and device if you're joining online

You may also enjoy having a journal nearby to capture reflections or insights, but this is always optional.

All practices are trauma-informed, beginner-friendly, and adaptable. There is no expectation that you'll move in a certain way or keep up with anyone else. Many practices can be done seated, standing, or with very gentle movement, and you're always encouraged to listen to your body and participate at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Most of the skills you'll learn take just 1–10 minutes and are designed to be used throughout your day—in the moments you need them most.

Most importantly, you don't need to do anything perfectly. Simply showing up with curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a few moments for yourself is more than enough.

Consistency is more important than perfection.

One of the core principles of Breathe, Move, Heal is that meaningful change doesn't require hours of practice. In fact, many of the skills I teach take just 1–10 minutes and are designed to fit naturally into your everyday life.

A few intentional moments throughout your day—a calming breath before a meeting, a quick movement break between tasks, or a grounding practice before bed—can have a powerful impact over time.

Many people notice feeling calmer, more present, or more grounded after just one practice. Lasting nervous system regulation develops through small, consistent moments of awareness and practice.

Think of it like strengthening a muscle. Every time you pause, breathe, move, and reconnect with yourself, you're helping your nervous system build new patterns of resilience.

Remember: One breath. One movement. One moment of healing. That's enough to begin.

That's completely okay—and often a very normal part of reconnecting with yourself.

When we slow down and begin paying attention to our bodies, we may notice emotions, thoughts, or physical sensations that have been pushed aside while moving through the busyness of everyday life. This doesn't mean anything is wrong; it's simply information your body is ready to share.

You're always encouraged to move at your own pace and choose only the practices that feel supportive. You can pause, rest, modify a movement, or simply observe your experience at any time.

My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can build awareness and practical nervous system skills without pressure or judgment.

If you're participating in coaching, classes, or educational programs and find that difficult emotions continue to arise or feel overwhelming, I encourage you to seek additional support from a licensed mental health professional. If you're a Wisconsin resident, therapy may also be an appropriate option through my counseling practice.

No worries! Life happens, and these programs are designed with flexibility in mind.

All live Breathe, Move, Heal classes and coaching calls are recorded, so if you can't attend live, you can simply watch the replay whenever it works best for your schedule.

Many participants enjoy joining live for the opportunity to connect, ask questions, and practice together, while others appreciate the flexibility of returning to the recordings at a time that feels right for them.

Whether you join live or watch later, you'll receive the same guided teaching, practical Breathe, Move, Heal skills, and nervous system support.

If you have the membership, each replay is part of your growing library of resources, allowing you to revisit your favorite practices whenever you need a moment of calm, resilience, or reset.
